Thankfully 1 and 2 are both super replayable, and Long War is basically a whole new game for either. The variety of classes and skills, procedural maps, and randomized strategy layer all give it much more replayability than EU/EW, and WOTC improves a lot of things over the base game, including fewer missions with timers. I've got a save where moving one squaddie instantly crashes the tactical map, so those console commands could be a lifesaver. A better tutorial, more forgiving, and while some people may hate the turn timers, it prevents new players from camping and optimizing the fun out of the game.
